Chapter 7
What’s Ailing You? Common Allergy Culprits
Want to know more about what’s ailing you? While there are thousands of allergies—and even more yet to be discovered—some are more common than others. Below, you’ll find descriptions of some of the more prevalent allergies out there so you can take steps toward identifying the cause … and finally defeating the symptoms.
Skin
Skin reactions send people through the roof. Watching a sensitivity manifest in real time—seeing it spread and change in a matter of days, hours, minutes, or even seconds, can be very scary. Our skin is the first barrier we have against the outside world, so when it starts to puff up or change color, it’s understandably upsetting—especially if the cause is unclear. The two forms of skin reactions I want to talk about are eczema and hives.
